Witness appeal following burglary - St Nicholas Road, Wallingford

Hello Resident,

We are appealing for information following a report of an attempted Burglary in St Nicholas Road, Wallingford.

The incident occurred on two occasions (approx. 02:20am and 23:30pm) on (Tuesday 1st September 2026) at a property along St Nicholas Road, Wallingford.

Thames Valley Police are investigating reports of unknown individuals attempting to force entry to a property on St Nicholas Road on two separate occasions.

The suspects were described as being part of a group of approximately four people, wearing dark clothing and face coverings, and claiming to be from a delivery company.

Please remain vigilant and follow this advice:

🏠 Always verify callers before opening your door

Use a door viewer, window or video doorbell where possible.

Ask for identification and check it carefully.

If you are not expecting a delivery, do not feel pressured to open the door.

📦 Be cautious of unexpected deliveries

Genuine delivery companies will not object if you verify their identity before allowing access.

If in doubt, contact the delivery company directly using a trusted phone number or website.

🔒 Keep your property secure

Ensure doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.

Consider security lighting, CCTV, or a video doorbell.

👀 Report suspicious activity

If you see individuals acting suspiciously, trying door handles, claiming to be delivery drivers without a legitimate reason, or loitering around properties, please report it.

If a crime is taking place or there is an immediate threat, call 999.
